Night Photography

Finally got around to doing a bit of my favorite thing: photography.  I decided to play around with some night photography, and decided tripods are your best friend. At night, cameras use long exposure to capture what we see. So without stabilizing your camera on a tripod, your images come out blurry. Even with my tripod, I had trouble getting some clear shots, but unfortunately I didn’t realize this until I got home and downloaded the images. I should have used the timer so I was not touching the camera when it took the picture. It was fun to get out with a camera, but it was a bit chilly! Anyway, here are some of the pictures from my latest adventure:

I think I took this by accident, but I love how it turned out! The out of focus lights just look dazzling!

 Have a lovely Friday!

I have had my tripod for a long time, but it seems a lot like this one from Amazon. It is nice, but not too expensive. There are tons of others for less if you just look though!

Winter Photography: Skiing Trip

Had a wonderful snow day last week. My family went cross country skiing, we were able to get some great shots of this lovely winter weather. Hope you are enjoying today’s weather, I sure am! Winter can be hard for photography because of the lack of colors, but I was able to get some pretty good pictures taken. This weather just makes me want to bundle up and get some great winter photography done! I have loved taking pictures of the mountains and loved getting a bit closer to the trees and streams.Winter Photography

We rented our ski’s for only $10 at Scheels!  We headed up one of our local canyons and got in all of our skiing garb, poles, boots hats, and all, and headed up the canyon. We skied for about an hour, with no falls, and decided to head back down. (Let’s just establish that I am not talented in the balance department, and was very proud of my no fall record so far in the trip). We headed back and I managed to fall a total of five times, making up for the lack of falling on the way up. All in all it was a great trip, and other than getting a bit wet, we had a fun time.
